Do you want something vegan and sweet ,right now?

You can make this candied nuts (walnuts) if you have some nuts and non-stick skillet !

It seriously takes only a couple of minutes on the stove and another 5 minutes to cool down.

Ingredients

(reduced sugar version)

1/2 cup walnuts

1tbsp raw cane sugar

A pinch of salt

ree

Toast the walnuts for 2 or 3 minutes until they smell aromatic.

Add a sprinkle of salt.

This sprinkle of salt is the key ingredient that makes small amounts of sugar quite sweet.

Then add 1tbsp sugar.

Sugar dissolves into a candy-like liquid in a few seconds.

Quickly roast the walnuts with the syrup.

As soon as the walnuts are coated in syrup, remove them from the heat.

Place the walnuts on a parchment paper or silicon mat to dry the surface.

And that is it!

And you can make this snack with almonds too.

Candied Almond

1/2 cup Almond

1/4 cup raw cane sugar

A pinch of salt and cinnamon powder

25ml water

Melt all the sugar in the small amount of water over high heat.

When it' s very bubbly add salt, cinnamon powder and Almond.

Stir it slowly over low heat for a few minutes

Reduce the heat to low the moment you smell the caramel.

First the sugar melts ,then it becomes flaky but keep mixing the nuts.

At the end ,the flaky sugar starts to melt again,

that's when you stop roasting nuts.

Arrange them on a silicon mat.

The nuts should not overlap before the candy hardens.

It takes just a couple of minutes to get settled.

But if you let them cool long enough, they become even crunchier.

These nuts are very tasty as a salad topping as well.
