Sunflower seeds cheese

This is a vegan cheese I make with minimal ingredients.

A hand blender is required.

Sunflower seeds cheese

Ingredients


★1/2 cup sunflower seeds

★½ teaspoon rock salt

★½ teaspoon garlic powder

★A pinch turmeric powder

★120ml water 

★8g agar agar (powder)


+20 ml of hon mirin (=sweet cooking rice wine/or a pinch of sugar)

+30 ml lime or lemon juice

+10 ml EV olive oil

+ black pepper, herbs of choice



Add all the★ ingredients in a saucepan and heat for 4-5 minutes.

Make sure to bring it to a full boil, keep stirring to prevent burning.

Transfer these to a measuring cup (or a tall cup ,so we can use a hand blender)


Add hon mirin, lime or lemon juice and EV olive oil in the mixture.

Blend it for 2 minutes until smooth.

Place parchment paper in a container of your choice.

Transfer the mixture into the container and keep it in freezer for 15mins.

If it’s firm enough, slowly remove the paper and sprinkle with pepper and herbs.

Afterwards, store it in the fridge.(Not in the freezer)
