Easy tofu bacon


There are so many ways to create vegan bacons but this one is

really easy in Germany.

The main ingredient is the smoked tofu.

I usually buy this Edeka’s smoked tofu but almost any supermarket has

something like this. Just slice a block of tofu thinly.



Ingredients


175g smoked tofu

1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder (alpakas)

1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder (fuchs)

1/2tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp sweet paprika powder

A pinch of cumin powder (optional)

1tbsp stable olive oils

1tbsp brewer’s yeast

Black pepper


STEP 1

Heat the oil in a frying pan and arrange the tofu in a single layer.

Fry them for about 3 minutes until crispy on one side.

Sprinkle the top side with paprika powder and other spice of your choice



STEP2

Flip the tofu over so that the oil turns red and the whole mixture is a moderate red colour.

When the crispy side is facing up, sprinkle with the beer yeast.


STEP3

When both sides are crispy, turn off the heat and sprinkle with black pepper.

If you want to add soy sauce, add it at the end as well.


Done ! You can add them to sandwiches, salads and even in soup.
