Instant pot beer stew for an event.

This recipe is made for a special event in 2024.

This is a very quick recipe with an instant pot.

If you don't have one ,you will need about 25-30minutes of simmering after adding beer.




Ingredients for 5-6 main dish portions


(step1)

1tbsp vegan butter or olive oil

1cup of chopped veg (2cloves of garlic/celery/carrots)

2tbsp spelt flour to thicken the sauce


(step2)

1tsp salt

1/3tsp cinnamon

2 bay leaves


(step3 )

2 cups of diced vegetables of your choice (carrot/celeriac/red bell pepper)

3 cup of diced starchy vegetables of your choice (potato/sweet potato)


400ml canned tomatoes

1tbsp raw cane sugar (or dark chocolate)

1tbsp dark soy sauce


(step4)

250ml water

1 pack of vegan chicken (soy product) =180g or any canned beans

1tbsp chia seeds(to thicken the sauce)



(step5/optional step)

Optional ingredients to add after pressure cooking.


1tbsp EV olive oil

Starchy water (1tbsp Cornstarch/ 2 tbsp water ) instead of chia seeds

Tahini sauce (topping)






Lastly add beer and bring it to a boil , place the lid.




Pressure cook it for 6 minutes.


After 6 minutes of pressure cooking, release the pressure.

If you would like to thicken the stew more, add starchy water and stir it.

But usually the sauce is thick enough if you added flour and chia seeds.
