Pineapple teriyaki tofu

Writer's picture: Misaki MatsuuraMisaki Matsuura

Miraculously, I made a delicious sauce with a canned pineapple!

So this is what has just happened.

1 smoked tofu (Rewe bio ) 175g (this tofu is rather salty )

1/2 cup of walnuts

1/2 cup of red onion

1 tbsp oilve oil

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Use a cheese grater to grate the tofu.

Chop the onions and walnuts with a knife.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onions, tofu and walnuts in this order. (5 mins)

Just leave it right there for a while.

And let's blend the yummy pineapple teriyaki sauce.

30ml soy sauce (it’s rather salty, please modify the level of saltiness)

1tsp sambal oelek (or other chili paste)

4 small pieces of canned pineapple

30ml pineapple juice from the same can

A pinch of black pepper

Once the sauce is blended using a hand blender, pour it over the fried tofu.

Sauté over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. And that is it!

It would also go well with bread, tortillas or noodles.

But it’ served with some steamed jasmine rice and salad.

It is time to devour!

By the way, this topped carrot salad is also very tasty.
